Born on April 20, 1990 in Southern Nigeria, Lysious’ relocation to the United States began with his dad moving to Washington, DC when Lysious was nine years old.  This paved the way for a teenage Lysious, his mom and brother to relocate to DC several years later.

He jokingly describes himself as “born in Nigeria, but adopted by DC,” a reference to his love for Washington, DC where his father was a resident for almost 20 years before he passed away in 2014. As such, the city have had as much influence on Lysious as his native Nigeria.

Lysious recounts his childhood as primarily influenced by both Nigerian and American cultures. Hence, both cultures are heavily reflected in his works.

His first novel, Love Birds: Beyond Death was self-published in 2011 to mixed reviews. Lysious describes the novel as a learning experience and a reflection of his potential as a writer. Following the release of his first novel, Lysious spent several years developing plays and other theatrical projects for his local church.

Lysious attended mostly private schools in his native Nigeria. He briefly attended Roosevelt High School, Washington, DC, and the University of the District of Columbia before graduating from Howard University in 2015 with a degree in Radio, TV and Film.

He was co-host and producer of Good Morning Gospel on WHBC 96.3 HD3, Howard University’s Black Communicator, until his graduation in May of 2015.

In 2014, while still a student at Howard University, he launched the production company, Conbeach Ideas with the motto, Be Entertained. Be Inspired.

Lysious currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.
